Director - Asset Management (Transport) - Ref: KC13388
This leading investor, developer and long term fund manager of core infrastructure whose investment strategies focus on assets covering a wide range of sectors, with particular focus on social infrastructure, transportation, renewable energy and utilities are currently seeking a Director to join their Asset Management, Transport team. Taking directorships on rolling stock leasing projects and rail infrastructure projects in the UK and potentially other projects in the transport sector, bringing a technical and commercial perspective.
Roles & Responsibilities
The role has been created to meet the growth in the Company's portfolio as well as meet the technical requirements of the increasingly complex assets in the existing portfolio.
Technical expertise in infrastructure investment specifically within the rolling stock and rail infrastructure space including capability to lead on-boarding of new primary and secondary investments in the sector,
Support governance and oversight of portfolio assets with good judgement, rigour, financial and commercial analysis, and application of technical knowledge in the sector.
Take on or support Board Directorships where relevant to ensure that: all aspects of projects are being appropriately managed, specifically the technical aspects of the manufacturing and maintenance agreements
Conduct cross-portfolio analysis of operational and financial data in support of value optimisation, compliance and best practice exercises. ·
Provide technical support to the investment team on new opportunities within the sector.
Identifying and supporting ESG initiatives to drive value creation/enhancement.
Exposure to variations, disputes, handback, assessing and addressing industry and ownership change and preferably exposure to PFI and/or ROSCO leasing terms and to the due diligence related to refinancing and other aspects of lender relationships
Experience & Qualifications
Preference for an individual that has experience in the UK Railway industry with an engineering background and commercial experience, with a professional focus on rolling stock fleet management, manufacture, commissioning and railway systems
Strengths in identifying commercial opportunities and risk mitigations and ensuring their implementation through contracts and agreement and distilling complex situations into cogent succinct reports and action plans
Facility with financial modelling, performance regimes
Astute contractual and commercial awareness and demonstrable business acumen
Excellent verbal and written communication skills particularly in presenting complex technical information to senior executive level
Be highly organised and able to manage deadlines while working on a number of projects simultaneously
A natural senior leader with recognised ability to influence internal and external stakeholders
Ability to act with a significant level of autonomy
Excellent management skills, and able to thrive within a hard-working and good humoured environment.
Willing to travel for board meetings, site visits and other business purposes.
