Manager, Fund Services – Private Assets, Edinburgh – Ref: KP14043
Up to £65,000 base + bonus + bens

Our client, a global Securities Services company, is currently seeking an experienced man-manager and qualified fund accountant to lead a new team in Edinburgh within their Private Assets Fund Services department. The position is to lead a small team who vary in experience from graduates to fully qualified accountants, who support the private debt Funds and segregated mandates for a large client onboard – part of the organisation’s strategic private assets initiative.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Provide technical accounting oversight to the UK private debt book covering multiple fund ranges and to ensure accounting standards are adhered to.

  • Man-management responsibilities, mentoring, training and appraisals for a small but growing team.

  • Be proactive in managing change, and working autonomously to investigate complex accounting standards across domiciles; as well as getting involved in designing the operating model and ensuring robust controls are embedded within structures at onboard – then playing an oversight role once in BAU.

  • Develop and maintain good working relatinoships with client contacts and third parties such as audit firms and external technology providers.

  • Manage Operational Risk – continually re-assessing the risks inherent in the business, adopting best practice and taking into account of changing external considtions, legal requirements and new technology impacts.

  • Maintain an awareness of topical market issues – particularly changes to pricing and accounting / tax requirements

Experience & Qualifications

  • Qualified or part qualified Accountant ideally

  • Good supervisory / managerial experience in the Financial Services / Investor Services industry.

  • Thorough knowledge of Investment Accounting and Fund Administration with respect to Private Assets (ideally with private debt); but would consider managers from a traditional fund accounting / operations background too.

  • Experience of dealing directly with external clients and third parties.

  • Excellent communication and team ethic.

  • Strong business sense and awareness of the key issues / risks within the Fund Administration area.
