Portfolio Managers Assistant Ref: AB12440

A newly created role has arisen within the the highly regarded boutique Asset Manager for a bright, well-educated individual with circa 18 months of experience within the Investment Management arena to support the Indexation Portfolio Managers in the day to day management of the discretionary portfolios.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Support the portfolio managers in the day to day management of the discretionary portfolios ensuring all portfolios are managed within mandated guidelines including performance, tracking error, overall risk profile and other portfolio specifics.

  • Assist the portfolio manager in the monitoring of index events and corporate actions

  • Acting as one of the main points of contact between the Indexation Desk and Middle Office/Operations, resolving settlement and other transaction related problems as they occur.

  • Provide ad-hoc reporting to the investment team to assist in the investment decision making process

  • Assist in the trade booking onto the internal portfolio management system

  • Providing administrative support to the team as well as working on projects when required.

  • Assist with the implementation, monitoring and attribution analysis of any active strategies in accordance with required specifications and client guidance.

  • Assist with the resolving of system and data issues

  • Assist in the production of marketing material and portfolio management review documentation

Experience & Qualifications

  • The ideal candidate will have a business degree or equivalent level qualification and hold the IMC or be studying towards the CFA qualification

  • 1-2 years of Asset Management experience with a focus on equity and/or fixed income securities with an understanding of sustainable investing and data analysis

  • Exposure to Equities, Foreign Exchange, Derivatives and Fixed Income would be a distinct advantage.

  • Proficient IT skills using Microsoft Products, particularly advanced Excel skills

  • Self-motivated and driven to expand product knowledge and further career

  • High attention to detail with strong analytical skills
