Product Associate - £Exc + Bens + bonus - Ref AB14144

Due to growth and expansion, our client, a highly regarded mid-size Asset Manager is looking to add to their Product function. The role will manage, or support components of the Product Governance responsibilities as required in line with the objectives of the department/wider business. Dependent upon capacity and business requirements, the role may also manage or provide support on other product related projects, e.g. product development or management initiatives.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • The primary focus of the role is to manage or support product governance initiatives within the scope of the Product department including the UK and Irish domiciled funds and in-scope services (including UCITS and NURS / OEICs and Unit Trusts / investment trust / model portfolio services).

  • This may include the ongoing product review process in line with the requirements of MiFID II and PROD to ensure that products (and in-scope services where relevant) remain fit for purpose, robust, competitive, stress tested and appropriate for the clients to whom / markets in which they are distributed.

  • The role will also manage or support other product governance initiatives including the review of the target market categorisation of the firms products.

  • It may also provide support on other product related projects, e.g. product management or change projects, as determined by capacity and business requirements.

  • Take ownership of initiatives from inception to delivery and/or work collaboratively with the wider team to do this, working with different areas of the business as necessary.

  • Prepare proposals/other materials, maintain project logs and operate projects in line with the relevant policies/procedures.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Experience of UK and Irish domiciled funds, vehicles and regulatory regimes would be a distinct advantage.

  • Experience in product governance or development/management or other directly relevant experience.

  • Good analytical abilities and the ability to present complex issues and ideas clearly.

  • Good working knowledge of the financial markets and the key trends driving the asset management industry.

  • Ability to multi-task and use initiative to manage the completion of multiple deliverables in a timely manner.

  • Good verbal and written communication skills and the ability to tailor these to the audience.

  • Demonstrable project management skills.

  • Strong Word, PowerPoint and other Microsoft application skills.
