Senior Analyst, Actuarial and Funding Risk – 12 Month Contract - £Exc

Our client, a leading investment firm who manage a wide array of asset classes and investment strategies are keen to make an addition to their Actuarial and Funding Risk team. Ideal candidates will be nearly qualified or have completed associate level at IFoA and have demonstrable experience in working within risk management function in the DB pension fund Industry.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Work within and support the Actuarial and Funding Risk team, reporting directly to the Head of Actuarial and Funding Risk.

  • Develop funding (asset and liability) risk modelling and reporting.

  • Produce/check actuarial and funding risk reporting for clients.
    Support the enhancement of overall solvency, investment and funding risk management analysis.

  • Provide support to the wider risk, investment risk and investment strategy teams.

  • Maintain and enhance risk data, models, systems and reporting processes.

  • Provide project support from a risk perspective, for example implementation of new regulatory requirements such as TCFD, Net Zero and IFPR.

  • Assist with the preparation of other regular reports as required to the CRO, the Executive and the Board.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Newly Qualified, Nearly Qualified (11+ exams), or have completed associate level at IFoA.

  • Demonstrable interest and have demonstrated experience in working within risk management function in the DB pension fund Industry.

  • Experience within the pensions industry using asset liability modelling and working within a risk management framework.

  • Confident in answering client/stakeholder queries, will also have the ability to explain technical issues in simplified terms to clients, stakeholders and colleagues.

  • Good modelling and Excel skills, experience in using ALM software, some prior coding knowledge and an ability to write VBA macros would be attractive but not essential.

  • Change orientated and commercially aware, with the ability to produce good quality reports and add tangible value to technical discussions.

  • Demonstrable lateral thinking, problem solving, excellent communication and organisational skills.

  • Well-developed numerical, analytical and report writing skills.

  • Adaptable and flexible, pro-active, self-motivated, take the initiative.
