Senior Analyst / Deputy Portfolio Manager - Real Estate - (located in the North West) Ref: KC12340
Our client, a leading investment firm who manage a wide array of asset classes and investment strategies are keen to make an addition to their highly successful Real Estate team. Candidates will ideally bring 5 years experience, working as a Senior Real Estate Analyst and have solid monitoring, due diligence and underwriting background gained within a capital markets or investment setting:
Roles & Responsibilities
Management and reporting on existing real estate portfolio
Monitoring of fund commitments as well as assisting with asset management on direct assets
Engage with third party investment managers on evaluating drivers of performance for specific investments, changes in value, and rationale for those changes
Interact with external investment managers and partners and prepare investment reports
Monitor and manage the on-balance sheet assets being held for clients.
Underwriting of new investment opportunities:
Review, analyse and track potential real estate opportunities across different markets globally working with the wider team to shortlist potential opportunities
Maintain views on various markets by performing market research, peer group analyses and other analytics
Assist with due diligence and underwriting of real estate investment opportunities both direct and indirect, UK and overseas
Interact with internal teams and external service providers and partners throughout the underwriting process for new opportunities
Assist in the preparation of documents for and the presentation of new real estate opportunities to the Investment Committee
Assist in developing the strategy and its implementation across the aggregate portfolio
Perform a wide range of investment modelling activities
Experience & Qualifications
Good understanding of financial markets, with solid eperience in one or more of the following areas: Pension funds, asset allocation, investment management.
Chartered Surveyor, CFA and/or CAIA encouraged but not required.
Knowledge and understanding of the real estate market in the UK and overseas with an understanding of both direct and indirect investment processes.
Broad understanding of all RE property types (Office, Retail, Industrial, Alternatives incl. PRS).
Strong quantitative/analytical skills including RE underwriting, financial modelling, writing and attention to detail.
A good understanding of the commercial, governance and legal terms of real estate deal/fund documents would be an advantage.
Team player with excellent oral and written communication skills.
Demonstrated record of academic achievement and work ethic.
Ability to work through complex problems and challenges to provide innovative insights.
