Senior Data Engineer – Equities Investment Team - £Exc

Our client, a leading wealth management advisory firm, have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Data Engineer to join their Equity Investment team. This will be a key role with responsibility to ensure that the necessary data is in place to support their investment approach. It will require the development of robust and structured processes as well as creative problem solving and innovation in the development of those capabilities.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Creating processes for data collection from internal and third party sources.

  • Building automated processes for data cleansing / manipulation.

  • Data storage & mapping in databases (e.g. Snowflake).

  • Building automated processes for data uploads from databases to target financial analytics systems (e.g. FactSet).

  • Optimising bespoke reports for capability with storage in databases.

  • Using API software for enriching datasets with additional market data.

  • Systems infrastructure management.

  • Opportunity to leverage machine learning and AI to generate unique insights.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Advanced SQL and Snowflake experience.

  • Python experience.

  • Proficiency in data modelling, applied statistics and problem solving.

  • Experience in financial services sector; Investment Management experience beneficial.

  • Knowledge of relevant financial instruments/products, methods and accounting.

  • Experience working with investment data types such as holdings and returns data.

  • Experience in the use of Excel as a reporting solution. An understanding of commonly used formulas & Excel based data transformations.

  • Ideally experienced in using FactSet.

  • Ensuring that the Equities Team have access to accurate data & analytics will have a significant impact in the team’s ability to make high quality investment decisions and help them deliver successful investment outcomes for clients.

  • Scope of responsibility is primarily the Investment Management division.
