Assistant Portfolio Manager – Fund of Funds (Leeds)
Our client, a leading investment firm who manage a wide array of asset classes and investment strategies are keen to make an addition to their highly successful Investment team.
The role offers the opportunity to assist with the launch and ongoing management of all externally managed fund propositions. In addition, you will assist in all stages of the investment process, from fund design through to manager monitoring.
Roles & Responsibilities
Assist in the selection, combination, appointment and monitoring of mandates awarded to external managers in a consistent and rigorous manner with the aim of delivering sustainable outperformance from externally managed pools.
Assisting in the evaluation of investment strategies and style combinations for externally managed sub-funds to achieve agreed investment outcomes taking into account the complementarity of investment strategies.
Relationship management with external managers (both appointed and prospective).
Develop relationships with third party service providers including advisers, consultants, and research providers.
Regular review of the performance, attribution, exposure and risk metrics of the sub-fund/portfolio.
Provide commentary on the strategy, performance, attribution and risk of the sub-fund for which they have responsibility, for inclusion within client reporting documentation.

Assisting in the management of portfolios/sub-funds within investment guidelines and defined risk parameters.
Undertake fundamental research to support Strategic and Dynamic Asset Allocation decisions/forums.
Active participation in investment team meetings (both external management and wider firm).
Engage with the research, responsible investment and portfolio risk teams to ensure an integrated investment approach.
Experience & Qualifications
CFA Qualified and relevant experience in asset management, manager research and oversight, with a strong understanding of asset classes and economic fundamentals.
Understanding of Qualitative & Quantitative Due Diligence.
Relationship management skills.
High levels of integrity and trustworthiness.
Knowledge of Bloomberg, PowerBI, eVestment and other portfolio management tools.
