COO, Hedge Fund - £Exc plus bonus and benefits

Our client, an alternatives hedge fund managing $8 billion, is searching for a COO who has strong leadership skills, the ability to approach business with a creative point of view, and is effective at implementing company strategies into daily operations. This role is newly created and will be an integral leader in a growing business. The COO will lead the team of high-performing associates to be productive and effective, while supporting the broader team and business objectives.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with CEO in setting and driving organisational vision, operations strategy, and talent strategy.

  • Translate and implement business strategies and plans that align with the short and long-term objectives.

  • Analyse internal operations and identify areas for process enhancement working collaboratively across the team/ platform to make improvements.

  • Act as the point person for Finance, HR, Legal and Technology on behalf of the team, partnering with internal leaders of those functions.

  • Partner with CEO in capital and capacity management so that sufficient investment capital can be budgeted for near-term growth targets.

  • Manage capital investments and expenses to ensure that the business achieves investor targets for growth and profitability.

  • Monitor business performance and prepare detailed updates and forecasts.

  • Manage strategic initiatives.

  • Manage high-performing associate pool.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree.

  • 10+ years relevant work experience, with 5+ years in executive leadership roles.

  • Innovative leader with an ability to diagnose problems quickly and foresee potential issues.

  • Clear, authentic communicator, both written and oral.

  • Experience of working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • Energy market or Financial Services experience is a plus.

  • Solid grasp of data analysis, performance metrics, financials and business planning.
