Equity Analyst - £Exc
This leading Discretionary Fund Manager is seeking an Equity Analyst to join their Investment Team. Working directly with the AIM Portfolio Manager on generating new ideas, monitoring existing holdings and support the growth of the AIM IHT proposition. This opportunity is suited to those with approx. 2 years buy side Equity research experience, or may bring an Accountancy background and be studying towards the studying the CFA qualification.
Roles & Responsibilities
Conduct detailed bottom-up research on companies that are listed on the AIM market and make recommendations to the Portfolio Manager.
Monitor performance and risk on existing holdings in the portfolio.
Develop and update financial forecasts and valuation models.
Produce concise written research on companies.
Attend industry conferences, company meetings and other events to gain knowledge.
Provide ad hoc support to the equity research and the portfolio management team.
Experience & Qualifications
Up to 2 years’ experience in sell or buy side equity research.
University degree.
Strong accounting knowledge - must demonstrate ability to evaluate public company financial statements, and/or relevant accounting qualifications (ACCA, ACA. or CIMA).
Strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to work alongside senior colleagues.
Excellent internal and external presentation skills.
Advanced Microsoft Skills (Excel, Power Point and Word).
Adaptability in a changing environment.
Willing to take on extra responsibility.
Presentation skills, both one on one and to a wider audience of investment professionals.
Ability to articulate ideas, even when these may be non-consensual, and put forward persuasive arguments whilst also listening to the views of others.
Bloomberg, Bloomberg API Excel, Refinitiv, Python.
