Investment Associate – Origination - £Exc + Bens
Our client, a specialist Fund Manager focussed on Credit and Real Estate investments, has a newly created role within their Origination team for an Investment Associate. The primary role is to support the credit origination team in identifying, assessing, and executing credit investment opportunities. The successful candidate will gain hands on experience of the deal origination process, with exposure to high-volume deal flow. Our client’s platform is unique and our pipeline highly diverse, with off market deals across a range of geographies and asset classes.
Roles & Responsibilities
Perform rigorous financial analysis, including cash flow modelling, due diligence and closing of transactions for specific deal teams.
Actively particate and collaborate in team meetings to identify and source investment opportunities.
Evaluate and endorse new capital deployment strategies, demonstrating expertise and sound judgement in evaluating the financial viability of investments.
Conduct comprehensive market research to identify emerging trends, market dynamics, and potential investment niches within the Real Estate and Credit markets.
Assist in conducting due diligence on potential investment targets, including reviewing legal documents, conducting site visits, and liaising with external advisors and experts.
Work with Deal leader to produce and deliver detailed investment memorandums and presentations for the senior management and investment committees.
Develop and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including co-investors, brokers, banks, and other financial institutions, to source potential investment opportunities.
Experience & Qualifications
University educated (or equivalent) demonstrating outstanding academic attainment.
Minimum 2 years’ experience in an investment bank, private equity, Big 4 accounting firms (Advisory preferred) or investment consulting.
Strong financial modelling skills and proficiency in Excel. Knowledge of other financial software is advantageous.
Effective and engaging communication style, with the ability to convey complex ideas to stakeholders.
Understanding of private credit, including distressed debt, special situations, private debt, or real estate assets.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with sound judgement and acute attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Results-oriented mindset with a passion for achieving investment objectives.
Self-motivated, independent, problem solver with good interpersonal skills.
