Operational Due Diligence Manager - Private Markets (North West)

Our client, a leading investment firm who manage a wide array of asset classes and investment strategies, is keen to make an addition to their highly regarded ODD Team.
Responsible for Operational Due Diligence, the ongoing development of the ODD Framework and assisting the Investment function in respect of new and existing investments and investment managers.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Provide support to the Investments function to satisfy requirements for operational due diligence (“ODD”) on new investments and investment managers.

  • Review responses and supplementary information (including policy and procedural documents) from current and prospective external investment managers to Company’s due diligence questionnaires (“DDQs”), in respect of ODD matters, and following up any areas of interest.

  • Perform background, regulatory and media checks to identify and mitigate reputational, financial crime, anti-money laundering (“AML”) and politically exposed persons (“PEPs”) risks using external databases and systems.

  • Monitor and assess ongoing regulatory and media filings related to existing investments and investment managers.

  • Perform periodic reviews of existing investments and investment managers to ensure that any ODD-related risks are highlighted.

  • Liaise with internal Risk and Compliance department to ensure that all ODD matters have been completed satisfactorily prior to final investment decision; ensure that any ODD matters that arise during the tenure of an investment are dealt with appropriately; and respond to any other ODD-related queries.

  • Maintain knowledge on industry best practice and facilitate knowledge transfer to the wider Investment team.

  • Active participation in investment team meetings.

  • Develop relationships with third party service providers including advisers, consultants and research providers.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Experience of operational due diligence and/or compliance matters in an institutional investment management environment.

  • Experience of working in an investment management environment, with Alternatives or Private Markets coverage.

  • Knowledge and understanding of FCA requirements regarding onboarding and KYC information.

  • Knowledge of investment industry compliance and operational best practice.

  • High levels of integrity and trustworthiness.

  • Collaborate with others to generate investment ideas, refine processes and share constructive feedback.

  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills.
