Senior Risk Manager - £Exc + Bens

Our client, a highly respected multi award winning, boutique asset manager is looking for an experienced Risk Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for prudential risk oversight, and leading and co-ordinating the Internal Capital and Risk Assessment (ICARA) process, including stress testing, scenario analysis and wind down planning. They will also be responsible for developing a second line of defence Risk function approach to sustainability matters, and for contributing to continuous improvement of the Risk Management Framework.

Roles & Responsibilities

Lead on the ICARA process, including co-ordination of the stress testing, scenario planning, wind down planning and ICARA document completion.
Develop the Risk team approach to overseeing continuous compliance with the Investment Firms Prudential Regime (IFPR).
Develop and implement an approach to Risk team involvement in sustainability matters.
Lead on the development and enhancement of sub-frameworks, policies and procedures in the areas of Financial Risk, Model Risk, Credit Risk and Stress Testing Risk, aligned to the parent company where possible.
Work with the Head of Risk to understand and regularly review the risk culture.
Provide key input into reports to the Board and relevant committees, act as secretariat for the Credit Committee, and attend relevant management/committee meetings.

Experience & Qualifications

Proven experience in a risk, compliance, internal control or audit role in financial services, preferably wealth or asset management.
Previous experience of working with ICARA or ICAAP, or with financial risk in a wealth/asset manager.
Thorough knowledge of IFPRU, MIFIDPRU, Consumer Duty and working knowledge of the regulatory environment for wealth/asset managers.
Ideally will have gained a risk qualification within Financial Services.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
