FX & MM Dealer - Circa £125K + bens & bonus

Working in a small team, you will be responsible for assisting in the pricing of foreign exchange deals for clients and for taking responsibility for the short term asset and liability and liquidity management of across three of the firm’s branches including UK & New York.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • To manage the short-term liquidity of three of the firm’s entities.

  • Assist in formulating and implementing a trading strategy for GBP, USD and EUR money books.

  • Interest rate trading execution for the bank’s balance sheet.

  • Responsible for the management of the Treasury Fixed Income portfolio.

  • Provide cover for senior members on both the MM and FX desk.

  • Pricing and execution of client orders using various trading platforms, e.g. Bloomberg, BARX, and HSBC.

  • Monitoring and adhering to external and internal regulatory limits.

  • To resolve client queries when required in a professional, timely and efficient manner, liaising with internal departments where appropriate.

  • Timely preparation and distribution of daily/weekly/monthly management reports.

  • Assist in the annual budgeting process; update P&L spreadsheets and track actual against budget figures.

  • Assist in the testing of new systems and contribute to projects undertaken by the desk.

  • To ensure you have a full understanding of the department Business Continuity Plan, inclusive of your responsibilities, in the event the plan is invoked.

  • Ensure awareness of the risks associated with the processes of the department and the controls used to mitigate those risks. Be proactive in identifying any further risks or controls that may have an impact or bring added benefit or development to Treasury processes.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Ideally around 7-10 years’ experience within financial services, with a broad understanding of the treasury function and a demonstrable track record of Dealing.

  • You will ideally have worked in a client service function and be able to demonstrate effective relationship skills and client focus.

  • Knowledge of and exposure to the MENA region would be an advantage.

  • The role requires solid numerical and literacy skills.

  • IT competency skills are required to understand and use trading and communication tools such as Bloomberg and Reuters.

  • High ability to utilise and manipulate spreadsheets using Excel.

  • Be highly numeric with an analytical approach and ability to query and resolve problems.

  • Able to work to tight deadlines and prioritise work accordingly.

  • Be pro-active and self-motivated with high integrity.

  • A team player.

  • Possess a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Committed and motivated to perform at the highest level always.
